We will start by saying that you are not forced to do anything, if you don’t want to take one of your siblings as a bridesmaid because you know that they are not capable of assuming that responsibility or don’t have time.
You have to choose people that you completely trust, you know you can delegate some things and you love, naturally. We will recommend not having more than 8 bridesmaids (6 is perfect for us). It can be really difficult to manage everything such as the dresses if you choose to have the same color dress or the same fabric or the coordination during the bachelorette party.
How to ask your bridesmaids:
You can ask your bridesmaids really casually by telling them on the phone or whatever but you can also help them feeling special and important by asking them with a gift box or during a day out together. If you choose to give them a gift, you can fill a box with thoughtful attentions.
You can fill the box with a cute pajama set, a sleep mask personalized with their names (you can do it on Etsy) everything perfect for a slumber party or the bachelorette trip. You can also if you want, buy a candle, a necklace with their initials, a bottle of champagne and the best part, a Polaroid picture of you two saying “ I can’t say “I do” if you are not my maid of honor”.
