1. The history of the famous Bir-Hakeim bridge:

 

The Bir-Hakeim’s bridge was built between 1903 and 1905 by Louis Biette engineer and the achitecte Jean-Camille Formigé. This bridge connects le Quai de Branly and the Quai de Grenelle on the left bank at avenue du Président Kennedy on the right bank afterto have crossed the northern tip of the Ile aux Cygnes.

The bridge was named the bridge of Passy and then have been rebaticized bridge of Bir-Hakeim in memory of a battle that took place at Bir-Hakeim during World War II, from May 26 to June 11, 1942: the First Brigade of the Free French Forces achieved a difficult victory there against the military forces of the German Reich and the Kingdom of Italy.

This bridge is known for its beauty obviously but also after the Inception movie with Leonardo Di Caprio, the bridge got even more famous all around the world.

3. Fun facts about this bridge:

 

This is a beautiful landscape and the best background you can excpect for your wedddings photos in Paris. The mix of stone and iron with the Eiffel Tower in the surroundings is what bring all these people there.

The bridge crosses the Île aux Cygnes, a pedestrians access. On the downstream tip of the island, you can see the statue of liverty which is a smaller replica of the NYC monument.

In the middle part of the bridge, on the upstream tip of Île aux Cygnes stands a statue offerded to Paris by the the danish community in 1958 which is “La France Renaissante“ and offers a beautiful view on the Eiffel Tower.
