When Pierre and Dominique first started planning their wedding, they envisaged a small affair with just family and close friends, and so were happy to do the planning themselves.
They already had a restaurant in mind for their reception as well as a photographer – an acquaintance whose work they really liked. A friend took care of their wedding announcements.
Yet the more they spoke to the people around them, the more people wanted to get involved in the wedding. The number of guests quickly doubled, bringing them to a final total of 85 guests.
Pierre and Dominique realised that they needed the help of a wedding planner; someone to accompany them on their journey and help them with timings on the big day.
They decided to entrust Ceremonize with their wedding coordination. All of their decorations were designed by Kahina from the core Ceremonize team.
The couple ended up renting a municipal hall for their guests, and décor-wise, they imagined each corner of the room being something a little different, depending on the size of the room.
So Kahina created a cosy photo booth corner with lovely vintage leather chairs, a charming old trunk, and a range of props to allow guests to have some fun with costumes.
Then there was a candy bar filled with old fashioned sweets, as well as bio and gluten free options which went down a treat.
The couple had a choice between traditional round tables and rectangular ones, and in the end opted for the latter. It gave the room a wonderful layout composed of clean, straight lines.
This was an idea we suggested to the couple, to capitalise on the warm and informal atmosphere they wanted to create. Kahina’s decorations were completely in line with the desired “feel” of the wedding.
Dominique and Pierre said “I do” on the 9th April 2016, under stormy skies that prevented the couple from taking their wedding photos outside.
Our coordination allowed them to make the most of their wedding without having to worry about every last detail of the reception. We made sure there were no last minute surprises for them to deal with during their evening.
Pierre and Dominique were two very happy newlyweds, and we wish them the very best for the rest of their life together!
